3.1 Permitted Use
CourtEngine is designed for lawful sports tournament management purposes. You may use the Platform to create tournaments, manage player registrations, generate brackets, track scores, manage court bookings, and facilitate player communications related to legitimate sporting events.

- Use the Platform in any manner that violates applicable Philippine law or international regulations
- Harass, defame, or discriminate against players, umpires, or other users
- Impersonate CourtEngine, its staff, or other Organizers
- Attempt to block, disable, or circumvent advertising displayed by CourtEngine on its own platform pages
3.3 Organizer Responsibility
Organizers are solely responsible for the conduct of their tournaments, including but not limited to player safety, venue compliance, dispute resolution, and adherence to sports governing body rules. CourtEngine provides a software platform only and is not responsible for the on-court conduct of any tournament.
4. Subscriptions, Fees, and Payments
4.1 Subscription Plans
CourtEngine offers tiered subscription plans as described on the court-engine.com website. Features, limits, and pricing are subject to change with reasonable advance notice to existing Subscribers.
4.2 Billing
Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis as selected at signup. Payment is due at the beginning of each billing cycle. CourtEngine uses third-party payment processors and does not store payment card information directly.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused portions of a billing period unless required by applicable law. Cancellation resets the ad-free qualifying period described in Section 7.2.
4.4 Failure to Pay
If payment fails, your account will be downgraded to a non-qualifying arrangement and Advertisements may appear on your platform pages as described in Section 7. A failed payment also resets the 3-month ad-free qualifying period. CourtEngine reserves the right to suspend access to paid features until outstanding balances are resolved.
4.5 Price Changes
CourtEngine reserves the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days’ written notice to existing Subscribers. Continued use of the Platform after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
4.6 Court Booking Fees
If you use CourtEngine’s court booking feature, booking fees are collected directly through integrated payment processors. CourtEngine is not responsible for transaction failures, chargebacks, or payment disputes between Organizers and court renters. Applicable processing fees are non-refundable.
5. Tournament Data and Privacy
5.1 Your Data
Tournament Data you enter into CourtEngine remains yours. CourtEngine does not claim ownership of your Tournament Data.
5.2 Player Data
Organizers are responsible for obtaining all necessary consents from Players to collect and process their personal information through CourtEngine. By using the Platform’s registration features, Organizers represent that they have the right to collect the submitted player data and that its collection complies with applicable data protection laws, including the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).
5.3 CourtEngine Data Use
CourtEngine may use aggregated, anonymized Tournament Data for platform improvement, analytics, and product development purposes. CourtEngine will not sell personally identifiable player data to third parties.
5.4 Data Retention
Tournament Data is retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter. You may request deletion of your Tournament Data by contacting CourtEngine support. Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
5.5 Live View Pages
Live view pages, leaderboard pages, and bracket pages may be publicly accessible via shared links. Organizers are responsible for deciding whether to share these links and with whom. CourtEngine is not responsible for any privacy concerns arising from Organizers sharing public tournament links with unauthorized parties.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 CourtEngine Ownership
The CourtEngine platform, including its design, code, workflows, automation logic, branding, and documentation, is owned by CourtEngine and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any CourtEngine intellectual property to you.
6.2 Digital Spaces
All pages, interfaces, and digital spaces generated or hosted by CourtEngine — including live view pages, leaderboard pages, bracket views, umpire scoring sheets, registration pages, court booking pages, and the organizer dashboard — are CourtEngine’s digital property regardless of whose tournament data they display. Organizers acquire no ownership or commercial rights over these digital spaces through subscription payment or any other means.
6.3 License to Use
CourtEngine grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for your tournament management purposes in accordance with these Terms.
6.4 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you upload to the Platform, including logos, event descriptions, and branding assets. By uploading content, you grant CourtEngine a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and use that content solely for the purpose of providing the Platform’s services to you.
6.5 Feedback
If you provide CourtEngine with feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Platform, CourtEngine may use that feedback without any obligation to compensate you or keep it confidential.
7. Advertising and Sponsored Content
7.1 CourtEngine Advertising Rights
CourtEngine reserves the right to display third-party advertisements, sponsored content, and promotional materials (“Advertisements”) on any CourtEngine-powered page. This is an integral part of CourtEngine’s business model alongside organizer subscriptions and per-tournament fees. By using CourtEngine, you acknowledge and accept CourtEngine’s right to monetize its own digital spaces through advertising.
7.2 Ad-Free Experience — 3-Month Qualifying Period
Ad-free status is not automatically granted upon subscription. Organizers must meet the following qualifying criteria before ad-free status is activated:
- Monthly subscribers: Ad-free status activates at the start of the 4th consecutive billing month. The qualifying period must be completed without interruption.
- Annual subscribers: Ad-free status activates immediately upon confirmed payment of a full annual subscription.
- Per-tournament users: Per-tournament fees do not contribute toward the 3-month qualifying period. Ad-free status is not available to per-tournament users.
7.3 Continuity Requirement
The 3-month qualifying period must be continuous. Any of the following events resets the qualifying period to zero: a subscription payment fails or is not renewed on time; a subscription is cancelled, downgraded, or paused; or an account is suspended by CourtEngine. Upon resubscription, the qualifying period begins again from the new start date.
7.4 What Ad-Free Means
Ad-free status removes third-party brand advertising from platform pages associated with the Qualifying Subscriber’s account. It does not remove CourtEngine’s own branding, logo, tagline, platform attribution, powered-by notices, footer credits, or any CourtEngine promotional content for its own features or services.
7.5 Loss of Ad-Free Status
Ad-free status is suspended immediately upon any lapse, cancellation, or reset event as described in Section 7.3. Advertising may resume on all associated platform pages without prior notice.
7.6 Organizer Sponsorship Conflicts
CourtEngine’s advertising rights apply to its own digital spaces only and do not affect physical event sponsorships. Qualifying Subscribers may submit a written conflict accommodation request at least 14 days before a tournament. CourtEngine will make reasonable good-faith efforts to avoid displaying directly conflicting advertising but does not guarantee accommodation. Non-qualifying Organizers have no right to request conflict accommodation.
7.7 Nature of Advertisements
CourtEngine retains full editorial control over all Advertisements. CourtEngine will not knowingly display Advertisements that are illegal, explicitly adult in nature, or directly harmful to End Users.
7.8 No Revenue Share
Organizers are not entitled to any share of revenue generated by Advertisements displayed on CourtEngine platform pages, regardless of subscription status.
7.9 Player and Spectator Notice
Organizers using CourtEngine without qualifying for ad-free status acknowledge that players, spectators, and other End Users accessing their tournament pages may see Advertisements. Organizers agree to inform participants that tournament pages are powered by CourtEngine and that advertising may appear.
7.10 Advertiser Relationships
Advertisements represent paid arrangements between CourtEngine and third-party advertisers. CourtEngine does not endorse any advertiser’s products or services.
7.11 Modification of Advertising Policy
CourtEngine reserves the right to modify its advertising policies at any time with reasonable notice to active Subscribers.
8. Court Booking Feature
8.1 Availability
The court booking feature is an optional add-on available to Organizers who wish to offer online court rentals through CourtEngine.
8.2 Organizer Responsibility for Bookings
Organizers who enable court booking are solely responsible for managing court availability, setting accurate operating hours, ensuring courts are available as advertised, and resolving disputes with court renters.
8.3 Payment Processing
Court booking payments are processed through integrated third-party payment processors. CourtEngine is not a party to the financial transaction between the Organizer and the court renter.
8.4 No-Shows and Cancellations
CourtEngine is not responsible for revenue lost due to player no-shows or last-minute cancellations. Organizers may set their own cancellation and refund policies within the Platform.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
9.1 Platform Provided As-Is
CourtEngine is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
9.2 No Liability for Tournament Outcomes
CourtEngine is not responsible for any disputes, injuries, losses, or damages arising from tournaments organized using the Platform. The Platform is a software tool only.
9.3 Limitation of Liability
CourtEngine’s total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you to CourtEngine in the three months preceding the claim.
9.4 No Liability for Third-Party Services
CourtEngine integrates with third-party services including payment processors, email providers, and communication platforms. CourtEngine is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CourtEngine and its officers, employees, contractors, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Platform in violation of these Terms
- Your tournament operations and any disputes with Players or third parties
- Any content you submit to or publish through the Platform
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Any claim that your use of the Platform infringes the rights of a third party
11. Termination
11.1 By You
You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and ceasing use of the Platform. Cancellation resets the ad-free qualifying period. Upon termination, your access to paid features ends at the conclusion of your current billing period.
11.2 By CourtEngine
CourtEngine reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, non-payment, or any other reason CourtEngine deems appropriate.
11.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your license to use the Platform ends immediately. CourtEngine may retain your Tournament Data for a reasonable period after termination as required by law or legitimate business purposes.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
12.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
12.2 Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of CourtEngine shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the appropriate courts of the Philippines.
12.3 Class Action Waiver
You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis only and not as part of any class, consolidated, or representative action.
13. Modifications to These Terms
CourtEngine reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date and notify active Subscribers via email or in-platform notification at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of CourtEngine after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. General Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the CourtEngine Privacy Policy and any applicable subscription agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and CourtEngine regarding your use of the Platform.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14.3 No Waiver
CourtEngine’s failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
14.4 Assignment
You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without CourtEngine’s prior written consent. CourtEngine may assign its rights and obligations freely.
